I recently embraced an opportunity to work at a nonprofit in downtown DC, marking the next step in my professional journey. After years of building my own business and honing my creative expertise, I was ready for a new challenge—one that allows me to apply my skills in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.

Public Relations & Communication

  • Support the Public Relations team in planning, coordinating, and executing external communications such as press releases and blogs. 

  • Respond and monitor public relations inquiries and manage the public relations inbox, assisting members and the public with requests.

  • Continue to gain knowledge of DAR and membership guidelines.

Content and Website Management

  • ​Update and maintain DAR.org webpages and downloadable forms in coordination with internal departments, national leadership and society committees.

  • Manage content within Drupal to support website functionality and works with external vendor for new features and redesigns.

  • Perform content updates for DAR event calendars and member announcements

  • Assist in the creation of publicity materials, video production, and photography for DAR’s initiatives.

  • Manage and maintain the Today’s DAR blog, coordinating, copy-editing, and publishing posts.​​

  • Draft, proofread, edit, and schedule blog posts, social media updates, and email blasts for DAR members.​

THE STYLING RESERVE

Built an E-Commerece Website and Brand. Designed, manufactured and sold over 100 unique products catering to the luxury wedding industry. Doubled sale revenue every year since 2020. Featured in the printed version of The Knot Magazine 3 times in the first two years. Products are featured in multiple online publications and blogs, such as Vogue Wedding, Over the Moon and Style Me Pretty.

Website and E-Commerece Development and Management
  • Planned and executed a full e-commerce website build using Pro Photo framework in Wordpress CMS platform

  • Registered domain and hosting and integrated Woo-Commerece self-hosting for back end inventory and product management, payment gateway and shipping functionality

  • Set up analytic tracking plug-ins and linked with Google Analytic account 

  • Integrating third-party tools and plugins to enhance functionality of site

  • Technical problem solving and regular maintenance and updates as required 

  • Continually added new site features to enhance shopping experience for customers (ie: sticky cart and shop-able images)

  • Handle daily administrative duties such as client communication and inquiry response, invoicing clients, tracking expenses, updating contracts and managing appointments

PURE HOME

Graphic Design for a Home Furnishings E-Commerece Start Up | Seattle, WA  |  2010 - 2011  

Pure Home was an innovative online marketplace start-up providing a curated shopping experience for home decor and furniture.  I collaborated with web developers on developing the website and adding new website features, UI/UX design, stakeholder presentations, branding, and marketing.

UX & UI Design

  • UI/UX Design: Focus on creating user-friendly interfaces and optimizing user experience by designing clear navigation, intuitive interactions, and responsive design elements for both desktop and mobile platforms. Specifically designing buttons, icons, and menus

  • ​​User Testing and Feedback Incorporation: Conduct user testing and gather feedback on the website's design and functionality to identify areas for improvement and implement changes accordingly to enhance the user experience. Specifically wireframes, landing page and mock ups. 

  •  Keep current design trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices to continuously improve the visual appeal and functionality of the e-commerce platform.

Branding & Marketing

Collaborated with global and regional marketing managers to develop and implement marketing initiatives, worked closely with marketing leads to create and execute promotional strategies, managed projects with agencies and freelancers, designed promotional materials adhering to corporate brand guidelines, created product concepts and sales tools, developed content for internal communications, supported and attended regional events, and provided photography for marketing materials and internal events.
